Intensive start of the Smetana Trio in the new season 2014-2015

The Smetana Trio opens its new concert season this year in mid-August: first it goes to the West Bohemia, where it performs in Františkovy Lázně on August 18 at 19.30 and on August 19 in Mariánské Lázně within the 55th annual Chopin Festival. After that, the ensemble will goe to the East Bohemia. At the invitation of the Opočenská beseda company it will perform at the State Chateau in Opočno on August 22 at 19.30 with program dedicated to the Year of the Czech Music. There will sound the compositions of Vítězslav Novák, Josef Suk and Bedřich Smetana. Furthermore, the Smetana trio will visit the Swiss city Murten. In collaboration with the renowned Swiss clarinetist Wenzel Grund will perform on August 26 at the Murten Classics festival. The program will feature compositions by Michail Glinka, Max Bruch and Bedřich Smetana. more

The Smetana Trio will perform at the International Music Festival Janáček’s Hukvaldy

The Smetana Trio will perform on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the International Music Festival Janáček’s Hukvaldy 2014. Trio will present compositions by Leoš Janáček (Sonata for violin and piano, On the overgrown path for piano), Josef Páleníček (Choral variations for cello and piano) and Bedřich Smetana (Trio in G minor Op.15). The concert will be held in the social hall at Hukvaldy hotel from 18.00 h. more

Jitka Hosprová and Jitka Čechová will perform at the Chamber Music Festival Český Krumlov 2014

Two distinctive personalities of the Czech interpretive scenes, violist Jitka Hosprová and pianist Jitka Čechová, are invited to the 28th annual Chamber Music Festival Český Krumlov. On Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 19.30 hours they will perform in the Mirror Hall of the castle Český Krumlov with the supremely romantic program: Cl. Schumann: Three romances for violin and piano, Op. 22, J. Brahms: Sonata in f minor, Op. 120 No. 1 for Viola and Piano, C. Franck: Sonata in A major for violin and piano. more

Smetana Trio is again going abroad

Two concerts abroad waiting the Smetana Trio in the next few days. The first concert will take place at the Cambi di Stagione festival on 22 June in Monforte d'Alba Italian city. For the second concert trio moves to Slovenia where will perform in the City Museum of Ljubljana on 23 June 2014. The Smetana Trio please Italian and Slovenian audience by arts of V. Novák, B. Smetana and A. Dvořák. more

Filled week of the organist Pavel Svoboda

The organist Pavel Svoboda, Laureate of the Prague Spring International Music Competition 2013, has been busy this week. Yesterday on June 9 he performed in the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Kladno, on Wednesday June 11 at 19:30 and on Thursday June 12 also at 19:30 he presents within the 34th annual Brno Organ Festival 2014. In the church of St. Augustine (June 11) and in the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (June 12) will be performed works by J. S. Bach, L. Janáček, P. Eben. The last concert this week, on June 14, Pavel Svoboda plays in the German city Senftenberg, where he sounds the organ in the church of Martina-Luther with works of the composers of the romantic period and the 20th century. It is a festive concert to the 100th anniversary of the building of this organ. more

Organist Pavel Svoboda recorded his first CD

Historical Organ in Dobruska / Historické varhany v Dobrušce (1727) is the name of CD, which organist Pavel Svoboda, the Laureate of the Prague Spring International Music Competition 2013, recorded by the TRIART Recording agency this time. The recording was made in the parish church of Saint Wenceslaw in Dobruska where this mechanical two-manual instrument used for this recording was built in 1727 by Jan Bohumír Halbig jun. Recorded songs were created at the same time as baroque organ in Dobruska. High quality sound of this monumental instrument you can listen to the works of composers D. Buxtehude, G. Muffat, J. S. Bach and J. G. Walther. This CD „Historical Organ in Dobruska / Historické varhany v Dobrušce (1727)“ is released thanks to the financial contribution offered by the City of Dobruška and the Roman Catholic parish and dealery of Dobruška. The Smetana Trio came back from Brazil with big success!

The Czech chamber ensemble Smetana Trio realized its fourth-concert tour of Brazil in the period from 22 April to 2 May 2014. During the tour, the trio gradually introduced itself in Vitória (2x), Goiania, Brasilia (2x), in Porto Alegre, Nova Petropolis, Blumenau, Foz de Iguaçu and Rio de Janeiro. All 10 concerts were protected by the Czech embassies and Consulate General, and placed in the context of the "Year of the Czech Music", about it the local media was informed. Concerts listeners and generated significant media coverage. All organizers have expressed interest in the performance of the Smetana Trio in the new tour, which is being prepared for 2015. more

Another concert tour in France

TRIART Management art agency, along with its French partner held the sixteenth tour with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Chamber Choir and soloist of the Prague State Opera in France from 13 to 24 May 2014. Under the leading of conductor Jan Chalupecký the artists presented in churches and cathedrals of nine French cities the Mozart's Requiem and Mozart's compositions, which are very popular in France. The locations of the tour were Montlucon, Puy en Velay, Ales, Nimes, Marseille, Montpellier, Toulon, Avignoon and Montelimar. Concerts had the high artistic level which the audience appreciated the enthusiastic and appreciative applause. Based on the great popularity of these concerts TRIART Management will hold another "Mozart tour" in France this autumn. more
