Smetana trio leaves the fourth time in a line to Brazil

SMETANA TRIO flies these days again to Brazil, where it waits the series of ten concerts in the period from 22 April to 4 May 2014. On April 22 trio will perform twice at the Teatro Carlos Gomes in Vitoria, April 23 at the Teatro SESC in Goyanii, 24 and 25 April at the Templo da Boa Vontade and the Teatro CTJ in the capital town Brasilia. Smetana trio also be welcome by the concert’s halls of the Brazilian cities: Nova Petrópolis, Porto Alegre, Blumenau, Foz do Iguaçu. The tour will end with a concert on May 3, 2014 in the Leopoldo Migues Hall in Rio de Janeiro. The Smetana trio will perform works by Bedřich Smetana, Roman Haas and Antonín Dvořák to Brazilian audience. The Smetana trio deliberately chosen works of the Czech composers with regard to the anniversary of the Year of the Czech music, as well as to the 80th anniversary of this now legendary ensemble. more


Jan Páleníček will perform at the Eastern concert of the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice.

Cellist Jan Páleníček will perform at the Eastern concert of the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice on Thursday, April 17 at 19.00 h with the North Czech Philharmonic in the concert hall of the House of Culture Teplice. He will play Variations on a Rococo theme, Op. 33 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. On the program of the concert’s evening will be also Russian Easter, overture, Op. 36 (Nikola Rimsky-Korsakov) and Messa di Gloria (Giacomo Puccini). The concert will be conducted by the conductor Alfonso Scarano. more

TRIART Management agency organizes its fifteenth French tour

TRIART Management art agency, Ltd. together with its French partner organize another concert tour in France from 18 to 30. March 2014. The fifteenth time since 2009, The Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc travels together with the Prague Chamber Choir and soloists of the Prague State Opera to France, where they will perform with "Mozart" program. In twelve French cities sound Mozart's Requiem and other his arts conducted by Jan Chalupecký. The locations of the tour will be cities Vesoul, Thionville, Senlis, Rambouillet, Fontainebleau, Meaux, Charleville, Reims, Saint Quentin, Arras, Lille and Nancy. more

The Apollon Quartet heading back to Moravia

For the second time this year, the leading Czech ensemble Apollon Quartet is going to go to Moravia. String quartet, which last year celebrated twenty years of its co-existence, performed in Valasske Mezirici on January 15 and in Novy Jicin on January 16. For the second time the ensemble visit Moravia on February 25, when it performs in Prostejov, in Trinec on February 26 and Moravian mini tour ends with a concert in Rajec-Jestrebi on February 27, 2014. The quartet presents its audience the classical-jazz program, accompanied by interesting and also humorous commentary by primarius Pavel Kudelasek. Apollon Quartet's classic-jazz concerts are successful not only in Moravia, but also throughout the country. more


The Smetana Trio and its soloists baptized two CDs

On February 5, 2014 were baptized two CDs of the Smetana Trio and its soloists which were recorded by Supraphon and TRIART Recording labels. Their godfathers were Prof. MUDr. Cyril Höschl and Mgr. Pravoslav Kohout. The CD by Supraphon label included one of the greatest trios of the 20th century - Trio in A minor by M. Ravel, and both trios by D. Shostakovich - Trio No. 1 in C minor, Op. 8 and Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67 . Interpreters of this quite unique recording is the leading Czech chamber ensemble the Smetana Trio (Jitka Čechová - piano, Jiří Vodička - violin, Jan Páleníček - cello), winning for its recordings of many prestigious international awards.
