September concerts organist Pavel Svoboda

Organist Pavel Svoboda will perform on Friday, September 21 at the inauguration of the Permanent exhibition of František Kupka and Luboš Sluka in Opočno. On Sunday, September 23 he will give the world premiere of composer Ivana Loudová in concert with Dvůr Králové Temple Choir in St. John the Baptist church in Dvůr Králové nad Labem. On Wednesday, September 26 he will perform at the Young podium festival in Ostrava, where he will play with Chamber Orchestra of the Janáček Conservatory Ostrava the Organ concerto in F major Op. 4 by G. F. Händel and solo compositions by J. S. Bach and D. Buxtehude. more

Jitka Čechová and Jan Páleníček begin the new season in Switzerland

Jitka Čechová and Jan Páleníček begin the concert season 2012 – 2013 with a concert in Solothurn in Switzerland in the magnificent hall of the Blumenstein castle. They will perform here on September 23, 2012 and in collaboration with an internationally renowned clarinetist Wenzel Grund they will recite trios for piano, cello and clarinet by L. van Beethoven, M. Glinka and J. Brahms. more

Alfonso Scarano was conducting in Bangkok

The conductor Alfonso Scarano was conducting in early August his first concert with Thai philharmonic orhcestra in Bangkok. Because of this successful performance he got an invitation for the next season.

Apollon Quartet celebrates 20 years of its existence

In 2013 will elapse 20 years since the founding of one of the most exciting ensemble of the Czech chamber scene. Apollon Quartet was founded by classmates of the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Almost immediately after the beginning of a rich concert activity began to like classical music tend also to jazz, rock music and other alternative genres. During their activity they performed at many European festivals, played many seasons in the world chamber cycles. They visited Japan, the United Arab Emirates, France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Slovenia, Turkey, Sweden and many other countries. They recorded 13 solo CDs, classical and jazz. Collaborated with many composers of classical music and jazz. Many works were devoted to Apollon Quartet. Due to their specialization in contemporary music and previously mentioned alternative genres became popular in the area of pop and rock music. Let us mention at least the cooperation with such names as Rod Stewart, Doug Wimbish, The Levellers band and other giants of modern music. The Smetana Trio as a guest of European summer festivals 2012

The Smetana Trio does not idle even in the summer after finishing demanding season and completing the five recordings of series of trios by Johannes Brahms. On weekend of August 4 and 5 always from 5 pm, the Smetana Trio performs at two concerts at the festival Hohenloher Kultursommer in Germany. At the first concert in Bad Mergentheim sounds besides the renowned trio by Bedřich Smetana as well two trios in cooperation with the excellent Swiss clarinettist Wenzel Grund - early Trio in B flat major, Op. 11 by L. van Beethoven and Trio Pathétique by M. J. Glinka. On Sunday in Schwäbisch Hall, the audience will have an opportunity to enjoy romantic music by V. Novák, A. Dvořák and J. Brahms performed by the Smetana Trio. Next week the Smetana Trio will go to the Croatian Zadar - you can hear it in the Svečana Sveučilišta hall on Wednesday, August 8 at 9 pm. The program will again dominate the romantic works of literature from the works by V. Novák, J. Brahms and B. Smetana. more

August concerts by organist Pavel Svoboda

Organist Pavel Svoboda, who returned several days ago with a great success from the Internationaler Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Wettbewerb competition in Leipzig, will have five concerts in the Czech Republic in August. During The Academy of Václav Hudeček he will play as a soloist with Musica Minor orchestra in the church of the Holy Family in Luhačovice on August 4 and in the Pilgrimage Temple of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Štípa on August 5 during the series "A beautiful building with beautiful music." Pavel Svoboda along with violinist Iva Kramperová will play in the church of St. Lawrence in Chodov by Karlovy Vary on August 11 and with trumpeter Miroslav Kejmar in Music Summer Kuks on August 18. He will perform again as a soloist with Barocco sempre giovane orchestra in the International Music Festival in Moravské Budějovice in the project "Václav Hudeček and his guests" on August 25. more

Jitka Čechová and Nürnberg Philharmonic

Pianist Jitka Čechová leaves next week to Nürnberg, where she will perform Concerto in G minor, Op. 49 by J. L. Dusík with the State Philharmonic Nürnberg by the Marcus Bosch’ conducting on Monday, July 23, 2012. The concert will be held in the Opera House in Nürnberg from 8 PM in the Internationale Gluck-Opern-Festspiele Nürnberg 2012 festival. In the evening called Les Pragois a Paris (Praguers in Paris) is dedicated to the Czech composers J. L. Dusík and A. Rejcha acting in Paris. Cities of Prague and Paris, as the cultural centers of the 18th century Europe, was also action of Ch. W. Gluck. more
